H-1B (Temporary Work Visa)

Description
The H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa which allows foreign nationals to enter into the U.S. and perform services in a specialty occupation job.

Duration of Stay
The H-1B visa is usually issued for three years with multiple entries. An H-1B visa holder can extend his/her stay for a total of 6 years.

Accompanying Family
Dependents (spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21) of H-1B visa holders can obtain an H-4 visa. They must submit a visa application individually.

Requirements
  • Have a bachelor's degree or the equivalent in work experience. You should have a bachelor's degree plus three years of work experience for each year of missing university education. This would be considered a four-year bachelor's degree.
  • Have a sponsoring U.S. employer and have an approved H-1B petition.
  • Seek temporary entry into the U.S.
